ZAYER is a Spanish firm that manufactures specialist CNC milling machinery for the metal working sector. The company has been manufacturing milling machineryfrom its base in the town of Vitoria-Gasteiz since 1947, when it opened a tiny 200 square metre workshop. This has grown to a 200,000 square metre headquarters where over 200 employees work on production and research to continually improve the quality of ZAYER machining centres for the next generation of engineering clients. ZAYER has always been heavily export oriented, seeing the global potential for high quality milling machines. In fact, it first exported a machine in 1954, when clients in Brazil heard about the reliability that ZAYER could provide. Nowadays, exports are around 70 percent of total sales and the firm exports to markets as diverse as Turkey, the United States, China and Mexico, maintaining global network of distributors and support technicians. The firm can offer a full maintenance service to clients in 40 countries, and telephone service support is available to clients elsewhere. The firm also places heavy emphasis on research, development and innovation, as well as maintaining a high level of skill amongst its technicians. This has been accompanied by a continuous focus on sustainability, with ZAYER introducing specialist eco-machining centres with higher levels of energy efficiency. The firm sells machining centres and tools to clients in a wide range of sectors, from railway engineering to hydroelectric dams and wind energy generation farms. This has placed ZAYER at the forefront of supplying the next generation of sustainable energy solutions.
